Remembrance Day

Day 3 of my Isle of Dogs walking/photography challenge

I wanted to mark Remembrance Day/Armistice Day today and so I remembered that in previous years the station in Canary Wharf had marked it by changing their station signs to a poppy design, which was very striking and a touching tribute.

I wondered if they would do it again this year during lockdown so this morning I walked up there and yes, even though there are very few people using the station at the moment, they’ve still changed the signage in remembrance.

I’ve been taking part in Remembrance Day all my life and if anything, it’s growing more popular now and certainly not less.

I use it personally to remind me of the horrors, sadness and devastation war causes to the lives of everyone involved in any conflict or oppression and to remind me to support peace and freedom whenever I can.

Let us never forget!
